We work directly with coffee farmers, who are our old friends, and farmers cooperatives. We have a long history in Brazilian Coffee Culture, that’s why we do have stronger friendships. Coffee keeps letting these strings more and more deeper though!
Our first Container is on it’s way to Tulsa! Before it arrives we went to California to meet Agnes and get everything ready for her work in Los Angeles. Wow, a road trip from Tulsa to California sounds like a great idea. We left Tulsa on a Thursday morning and drove to Albuquerque. On Friday, after a little more than 8 hours of driving, we were there!
We trained Agnes about Bertagna Coffee and our family coffee business. She is ready to sell Brazilian speciality beans to Los Angeles coffee roasters!
On the next morning we visited some roasters in there, and it was such a great day! People in New Mexico are very friendly. We dropped off some samples! By the way, let us know if you would like to receive one of our coffee sample too, email us to firstname.lastname@example.org, it will be a pleasure for us to send it to you.
Leaving Albuquerque, our next destination was Barstow, and then, LA! Let’s to drive for more 9 hours! In Barstow we basically slept and on nest morning we only visited one roaster and left to LA.
We arrived in LA on October 13th, just in time to grab a concert of her favorite band! 😉
Alright, the picture is not good at all, she wasn’t worried about it though. The concert was awesome! On Sunday, we…
Had our meeting with Agnes! Lol!!!
And now, Bertagna Coffee Co. has a team member in California! We are proudly to present you Mrs. Agnes Gasner ❤
Are you a roaster from CA or surround states? You can call or e-mail Agnes and she will be ready to attend you!

And, now, let us know: did you ever made a road trip? How much coffee did you need for it?
We are a family owned company and our history with coffee started 130 years ago today, when our family immigrated from Italy to Brazil in the end of the 19th.
When our founder (in Brazil), Mr. Cid Bertanha, was about his 20 years young, he came to town and started to build equipment and machines to his coffee farmers friends, and now, 42 years later, that small store, became Bertanha Industry, which is reference of development of technologies for agricultural mechanization. Some people don’t know it, but technology promotes a better coffee harvesting quality. The first reason is there is no hand contact, also, the harvesters machines have intensity control, which provides a regular harvesting process picking off from the trees only the cherries. Technology also provides a cleanest and efficient beans selection.
Bertagna Coffee Company is Bertanha’s American Subsidiary, by the way, Bertagna and Bertanha are the same name, the first one is the original spelling in Italian, and Bertanha is how they wrote our name when our relatives arrived in Brazil.
Bertagna Coffee Company was founded as subsidiary of Bertanha Industry. And the business idea started to become a reality when Mirani, a Bertanha’s second generation member, (who is a coffee lover-addict girl) started to visit US and researching about coffee.
After a couple visits and so many researches, she realized that the most specialty Brazilian coffee wasn’t so popular in US and also, 90% of our specialty coffee production is been shipped to Europe, specialty Germany, and that why we are here: we do have the best of Brazilian coffee, ask for your sample and we are absolutely sure: you’ll change your concepts about coffee from Brazil!
